Cockatoos originate from the Indonesian Islands, Australia, and New Guinea, depending on the species. Habitats range from woodlands and open forests to coastal plains. Cockatoo birds are listed in Appendix I of the CITES list and have been reported to live over 100 years in captivity, our pet cockatoos live between 40 to 70 years, depending on their care.
There are 14 species and about 8 subspecies of cockatoos worldwide. Most are white, some come in shades of gray, pink, black, and deep blue. Cockatoos are cute pets that children and adults love.
